Is the American culture to blame?

A lot of people blame the US for the problems of the world. We are blamed for the poverty in Central and South America, we are blamed for the terrorists in the Middle East, we are blamed for the starvation in Africa, and we are blamed for nearly everything bad that happens in China and Russia.

Why is this? What did we do other than win the cold war, send billions of dollars in foreign aid packages, accept your illegal immigrants, and save your country when it was under attack by someone bent on YOUR destruction.

Most people I know, when someone helps them, they say "Thank You!" But here in the US, we are accustomed to the rest of the world taking what we give, then, while still holding out their hands for more, they go and tell everybody how evil we are to have given them sooooo little help.

If you don't like it, don't ask for more!

Our culture isn't the cause of the problem.

However, our culture is not one which easily "compromises" at the whim of any other given ideology.

This is why the American Christian community is so at odds with organizations like the secular ACLU.

This is why the Arab Muslims in the Middle East are fighting us. Of course, they have no intention of compromising either.

As far as decrying the help we give them as not enough, it's just more of the guilt game. The guiltier they make us feel, the more we give and the more we compromise.

The unscrupulous will continue to playing to our guilt, and making us do their bidding by conning us into compromise, as long as we let them.
